Back from the tour…

After two and a half weeks driving up and down the coast I’m back in the little town of Santa Cruz. Along the way I met some good people, saw some wonderful sites, and listened to some great local songwriters. I’ll definitely do this again next summer.

There are a couple towns I must revisit like Ashland, Eugene, and Bellingham. Ashland was a friendly place with some great local songwriters. Bluegrass and folk was the thing over there. I will forgive them for their bad pizza (I went to three places) only because of the microbrews on tap. Luckey’s in Eugene was a surprising hot spot for a weekday show at 10:30pm. Both the pool tables and the bar were full that night with some very inviting locals. I thought this California boy was gonna get a little attitude, but nothing at all. Very cool people. Bellingham was my favorite town. We ate at a wonderful place on the main strip that over looked the ocean. We had ice cream that we bought out of an old broken down bus that was made into a ice cream and yogurt stand. That night I played the “The Green Frog Acoustic Tavern.” The choice of brew was great. The “Triple Belgian” and “Scottish Ale” were most memorable. Made a lot of friends that night. I should have some pictures up soon.
